Local Appliance Repair, Done Right
Daily Appliance Repair is a locally owned and operated repair company serving Washington DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia. Founded and run by John - a hands-on technician with years of real-world experience - this isn't a call center operation. It's one person who actually shows up, does the work, and stands behind it.
Same-day service is available across the DMV area. Whether it's a refrigerator that stopped cooling or a washer stuck mid-cycle, John handles it directly — no dispatchers, no guesswork.

“I’ve been fixing appliances for over a decade. I know what I’m doing, and I’ll be straight with you about what your appliance actually needs.”
— John
The Technician Behind the Business
John started working on appliances over a decade ago — not because it was a career plan, but because he was genuinely good at it. He picked up the trade hands-on, working through real jobs, real breakdowns, and real customer situations. Over time, that experience added up.
He's worked on everything from basic residential refrigerators to commercial kitchen equipment in restaurants and food service businesses. The range of work gave him a solid understanding of how different appliances behave, what typically goes wrong, and how to fix it without overcomplicating things.
Eventually, he decided to go out on his own. Not to build a big company — just to do the work the right way, on his own terms.
That’s still how it works today. When you call, you’re talking to me. When I show up, I’m the one doing the repair. There’s no team of technicians, no subcontractors. Just a straightforward service from someone who knows what they’re doing.
“I started Daily Appliance Repair because I wanted to be the person my customers actually talk to. Not a dispatcher. Not a call center. Me — the one who shows up and fixes the problem.”
Repair, Installation & Maintenance
I cover a wide range of appliance work — residential and commercial. Here's a breakdown of what I handle on a regular basis.
Washington DC
Full coverage across all DC neighborhoods — from Capitol Hill to Georgetown, Anacostia to Tenleytown. Same-day slots are usually available.
Maryland
Serving Montgomery County, Prince George's County, Silver Spring, Bethesda, Rockville, College Park, and surrounding areas.
Northern Virginia
Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Reston, Herndon, and more. I cover most of Daily and can usually get out the same day.
I Cover the Entire DMV Area
My service area covers Washington DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia — the full DMV region. I've been working in these areas for years, so I know the neighborhoods, the commute times, and how to get to you without wasting your day.
Same-day service is available most days. If you call in the morning, there's a good chance I can be there that afternoon. I try to give you a realistic window — not a four-hour block where you're stuck waiting around.
Same-Day Service Available
Call before noon and I'll do my best to get out to you the same day. Available Monday through Sunday, 7am to 9pm.
The Situations I've Actually Dealt With
Not textbook scenarios — real jobs, real problems, real fixes. Here's what I run into on a regular basis.
Refrigerator Not Cooling
This is one of the most common calls I get. Nine times out of ten it's either a dirty condenser coil, a failed evaporator fan, or a refrigerant issue. I've seen all three. I run through a quick diagnostic, find the actual cause, and fix it — not just reset it and hope for the best.
Washer Stuck Mid-Cycle
A washer that stops mid-cycle and won't drain is frustrating, especially when there's a load of wet clothes sitting in it. Usually it's a clogged pump filter, a faulty lid switch, or a control board issue. I've dealt with all of these — and I carry common parts so I can often fix it on the first visit.
Dryer Not Heating
A dryer that runs but doesn't heat is almost always a heating element, thermal fuse, or gas valve issue. I've replaced hundreds of these. It's usually a straightforward fix — but I always check the vent line too, because a blocked vent is what causes most of these failures in the first place.
Commercial Equipment Breakdowns
When a restaurant's oven goes down or an ice machine stops making ice, every hour matters. I've handled emergency calls for commercial kitchens and know how to work quickly without cutting corners. I understand the pressure of a busy service environment.
Most Major Brands, No Problem
I've worked on appliances from all the major manufacturers. Over time, you get to know each brand's quirks — what breaks, what doesn't, and what to check first.
Whirlpool
One of the most common brands I work on. Reliable machines, but the control boards and door latches tend to go after a few years.
LG
Great appliances, but LG washers in particular have known issues with the direct drive motor and drain pump. I've fixed a lot of them.
Samsung
Samsung refrigerators with the French door design have a recurring ice maker problem. I know exactly what to look for.
GE
GE makes solid appliances. Their dishwashers and ranges are workhorses — when something does go wrong, parts are usually easy to source.
Bosch
Bosch dishwashers are excellent machines. When they do need repair, it's usually the pump or the door latch assembly.
Maytag
Built tough, but not indestructible. Maytag dryers especially — I've replaced a lot of heating elements and thermal fuses on these.
KitchenAid
Premium brand, premium parts. I work on KitchenAid refrigerators and dishwashers regularly and know the common failure points.
Frigidaire
Very common in the DMV area. Straightforward to work on, and parts are widely available — which keeps repair costs reasonable.
Don’t see your brand? Chances are I’ve worked on it. Give me a call and I’ll let you know.
Diagnose Properly. Fix Efficiently.
I've seen what happens when a technician skips the diagnostic step and just starts swapping parts. It's expensive for the customer and it often doesn't solve the actual problem.
My approach is pretty simple: figure out what's actually wrong, explain it clearly, and fix it the right way. No unnecessary parts, no inflated labor charges, no runaround.
“A lot of appliance problems are simpler than they look. And some that seem simple are actually more involved. Either way, I’ll give you a straight answer before any work starts.”
— John
Diagnose First, Fix Second
I don't start replacing parts until I know what's actually wrong. A proper diagnosis takes a few extra minutes, but it saves you money and prevents the same problem from coming back a month later.
Be Straight About What It Needs
If your appliance needs a $40 part, I'll tell you that. If it's going to cost more to fix than it's worth, I'll tell you that too. I'd rather give you an honest answer than sell you a repair that doesn't make sense.
Fix It Efficiently
I carry a lot of common parts in my van. That means I can often complete the repair on the first visit instead of ordering parts and making you wait. When I do need to order something, I'll give you a realistic timeline.
Don't Recommend What You Don't Need
I'm not going to upsell you on parts or services you don't need. If the fix is simple, the bill will reflect that. My goal is to get your appliance working — not to pad the invoice.
What You Can Expect From Me
I've built this business on repeat customers and word-of-mouth referrals. That only happens when people trust you. Here's what I commit to on every job.
Licensed, insured, and available 7 days a week — Monday through Sunday, 7am to 9pm.
Transparent Pricing
You'll know the cost before I start. No surprise charges at the end, no fees that weren't mentioned upfront. If the price changes for any reason, I'll tell you why before proceeding.
Honest Service
If your appliance isn't worth fixing, I'll say so. If there's a cheaper way to solve the problem, I'll tell you. I'm not here to sell you repairs you don't need.
Reliable Response
I show up when I say I will. I give you a realistic arrival window and I stick to it. If something changes, I'll call you — not leave you guessing.
Direct Communication
When you call, you're talking to me — not a receptionist, not a call center. I can answer your questions on the spot and give you a real sense of what to expect.
Why Customers Keep Coming Back
There are plenty of appliance repair companies in the DMV area. Here's what makes working with me different.
No Middleman. Direct Line to Me.
When you call, you'll be speaking directly with me. No hold music, no call center, no “someone will get back to you.” Just a real conversation with the person who's going to fix your appliance.
